Database Applications

Over the last couple of years I have built several expansive database applications. Here is a brief overview of some of them.

ACSnet -

ACSnet is an intranet application developed for the Advanced Communication Services Division of Rochelle Municipal Utilities. It allows for Help Desk Tracking, Project Management, Domain Expiration monitoring, and provides Customer Information on demand for support purposes. This project used an Access Database and ASP Server Technology.

nctrack -

nctrack is an intranet application developed for New Customer Tracking. We took a paper checklist and turned it into a web enabled database application. It contains all of the forms necessary to bring a customer from no service through various required inspections and stages. It even provides for the billing of electric, water, and sewer hook-up fees and creates the bills sent to customers. This project used an SQL Database and ASP.NET Server Technology.

VOip Billing -

Rochelle Municipal Utilities provides Voice Over IP Services. We needed a way to take the data collected in our Cisco Call Manager system and create a bill for the customer. Prior to this application it took about an hour and a half to produce one bill. Customer Service now enters the beginning and ending date of the billing period and selects the customer from a simple pull-down and within seconds a bill is ready. This project used an SQL Database and ASP.NET Server Technology.

RMU Web Account Access -

With the new design of the RMU web site last Fall we began providing customers the ability to view their account information online. I developed a process that copies the appropriate information from our internal billing database and delivers it via the web. Not only can a customer view detailed billing information, they can also view 24 months worth of historical data via graphs generated from the data as requested. We also constructed a payment gateway allowing customers to pay their bill on-line. This project used an SQL Database and ASP.NET Server Technology.

Q & Z Nursery Product Catalog -

The Q & Z Product Catalog consists of hundreds of plants. We developed a data based catalog scheme that allows them to do all of the data entry for new products and have them instantly available on-line. They can also set markers for sales, specials, etc. and have them display in the appropriate areas of the site. This project used an Access Database and ASP Server Technology.

RMUez.net -

RMUez.net is a Marketing effort developed for our new City-Wide Municipal Wi-Fi system. The database portion of it allows a customer to fill out an application for the new service on-line. The system enters the customer's information into the database and then generates an e-mail to the appropriate staff personnel. They review the application via a secure page and set-up the account. This project used an SQL Database and ASP.NET Server Technology.
